Titans - Greek Mythology

In Greek mythology, Kryos is one of the twelve classical titans of the Hesiodic tradition, son of Gaia (Earth) and Uranus (Heaven). From the Greek, its name means "ram". Closely related to the constellation of Aries (lamb), Cryo was the primordial god of the constellations and its function in the Greek cosmogony was to organize the stellar cycles.

History

His wife was Eurybia, a goddess who was the ruler of the seas, born of the union of Gaia and Dots, and his sons were Pallas (god of warrior crafts), Perses (god of destruction), and Astreu (god of stars and stars) . The latter united with Eos (goddess of the dawn) and generated the stars, the four winds (Boreas, Nótos, Eúros and Zéphyros) and the known planets in Antiquity: Phaínôn (Saturn), Phaéthôn (Jupiter), Pyroeís (Mars), Stílbôn (Mercury) and Eosphóros-Hésperos (Venus).

Cryo took the party of Cronos in the Titanomachy and was thrown to the Tartaro after its defeat by the Olympic deities. However, according to various later mythical traditions, Zeus, once reconciled with the father, freed the titans from their fetters and allowed them finally to return to their divine functions in the universal order.
